So I survived graduate school. Trying to survive being a wife, mom, and chemistry professor. I know I'm still a chemistry nerd that sometimes teeters too close to the stress. What better way to deal than to blog?

Casen's Wish
Case and Friends

Leading up to his birthday party, I told Case about his choo-choo party coming up on Saturday. He was very excited - randomly, he would bring it up asking for his choo-choo party. He didn't know what it was, but he knew he would like it if there were choo-choos!
I was very happy that all of Case's cousins could come to his party. I know that it probably won't always work out that way in the future. Case got a special birthday surprise because Jaci got to come up the night before with his Mamaw and Papa. Lilly, Tulle, and Heidi all got to attend too.
Casen's 2nd Birthday Party
We celebrated Casen's birthday about a month after his real birthday. L-child was only a month old when Casen turned 2 so I didn't think I could organize a party that soon.
Apparently, even 2 months after Case turned 2 was too soon! Mom made the cake - isn't is awesome!?! Mom, Dad, and Jordan decorated too. All I did that day was get the 2 boys there - and I had help for that - Sheri and Jack were at my house!
Man, I have an awesome family!
Here's the pictures from the set-up for the choo-choo party!

Casen's Song
Mom sang this song awhile back to Casen when he was falling asleep,
"Casen's go'in on a choo-choo train, Casen's go'in on a choo choo train, Casen's go'in on a choo choo train to go see his _______."
You can fill in the blank with "Daddy", "Mama", etc.
Now I sing it to Casen when we are riding in the car. We go through everyone in the family usually. I try to get him to pick who he's going to see, but he is more concerned about what kind of vehicle he will be riding.
His favorites include a silver truck (like Daddy's), a green tractor, and of course the choo choo train.
Yesterday though, his requests got a little ridiculous:
"An old car!"
"An E car!"
"An I car!"
We sang about these letter cars for a long time. I wish I could see what he sees in his mind when he imagines an I car.
What a funny little boy!

Future Chemist
Me and My Little Boys
In response to my cousin's comment about never having pictures with her own child, I took a lot of myself with the boys today. Lately, I have been trying to take more pictures or have Josh take more pictures of me with the boys. Of course, they aren't the best quality. Not centered. Cutting off someone's head or arm. Weird close-up. BUT when I look at them, I'm reminded of how blessed I am.
And that this time is flying by too quickly.
