Seminar Done...One step closer to graduating...

Today I delivered my seminar to my department (and to Josh and Kellie who were so kind to attend). I summed up the research I've done the past 5 years. I had to work hard and through most of the night to get it ready, but it went really well. I was really at peace about it beforehand - what a blessing! Now I just need to finish writing my dissertation and defend. That's all. ha!

Oh, I did need to share this though:
My advisor introduced me today before I spoke. He said some nice things and funny things. "Amanda's done a lot of work these past years. She's produced a lot of neat results and she also produced a baby this year too."
I thought it was funny that having Casen was listed as one of my accomplishments toward my doctorate. Of course, I think it is - but I'm probably a bit partial!

Some Easter Pictures

Here's some pictures form Easter...more to come! Dennis and LaNette (aka Pawpaw and Memaw) came to visit. It was a cold morning (hence the coats). Casen always can find the TV now when he's in the living room so we took a picture of him with the remote. Don't worry, his mommy and daddy don't let him watch TV! : )

Pressure, Pressure, Pressure

So we're trying to do a lot of things this semester: be parents, balance time between everything, and I'm trying to finish up and graduate this summer (I missed the spring deadline). Anyway, it can be a lot of pressure sometimes. I try to do one thing at a time and keep calm. Then I have the following conversation with my 6-year-old niece Saturday:

Me: I have to go school and work for a little bit.

Tana: Why? Don't go to school!

Me: I have to go, I have work still to do...

Tana: You must not be a good worker then!

Apparently, her teacher tells her and the students at her school, "If you're not done yet, you aren't working well!"

Thanks for the added pressure! : )

Nashville

While I interviewed Monday and Tuesday morning, Casen spent the time with Josh. He's now Josh's Little Buddy. One the way home, Case was sitting in my lap on the plane. He was waving his arms, kicking his legs, and babbling so Josh would pay attention to him and talk to him. It's super cute. Here's some pictures of the campus that they took while I was busy. Notice the Starbucks on campus - can't beat that! The campus is really pretty. One video is from Sunday night at the hotel. The other is Lipscomb's new basketball arena. Very nice for a small private school.

Layover In Atlanta

We just got back from our trip to Nashville where I interviewed for a position at Lipscomb University. We had a good time, liked the school, faculty, and the city, and Casen did great traveling. Here's some darling video and pictures of him in Atlanta at the airport during our layover.
