Morning Blessings

I was blessed to attend our Ladies' Banquet at church last night. The theme was "I Got the Sun in the Morning and the Moon at Night" - a song from Annie Get Your Gun. Our speaker talked about how a good attitude helps us see all the blessings that God has given us. Our discussion questions focused on us recognizing the blessings - even ones that seem to be daily annoyances or chores. The scriptures read and the stories shared were uplifting and exactly what I needed to hear.

I thought about my mornings. I like to sleep. Really like to sleep. Now that summer is here and both my boys usually sleep through the night, I get to sleep quite a bit. I even get to take naps sometimes. Big blessing.

Some mornings though are rough. I just want to sleep a little longer - why does L Child have to wake up at 6 AM? Why can't the boys both take a nap so I can sleep myself?

But every morning I'm blessed. Sometimes, Josh gets up with Liam so I can sleep a little longer. One morning I woke up and wandered into the living room to see this. My heart felt full.

Some mornings I get up with our early bird. The best thing about getting up at 6 AM with L Child is that he likes to cuddle for about half an hour. He just lays with you on the couch and snuggles. Missing a little sleep for that boy's snuggles is worth it.

Yesterday, I got to sleep a little extra in the morning thanks to Josh (okay, okay, I'm realizing how blessed I am that Josh lets me sleep in so much). I woke up with Casen laying next to me smiling at me. He came in to snuggle and wake me up. One of the best ways to start the day.

Can't trade unlimited sleep for these boys.
