Reason #1290 Why Mamaw's House Is Fun...

...and though it is Papa's house too, according to Case it's Mamaw's house. (Case does the same thing usually at home and at Immie and Bunny's too. Everything is Mama's or Immie's.)

Mamaw gets out a billion colorful bowls for Case and Jaci. Cooking. Mixing. Towers. Hats. It's all fun!

Even Liam got in on the action. As you can see though, Case gave Liam the worse bowl: an old cool whip bowl (Welcome to life with Big Brother, Liam). Liam didn't mind - he got a hat!

Paradigm Shifts

In one of my classes, we were talking about paradigm shifts in Science. You know, for example, how people used to think that the sun and planets revolved around Earth, but then they observed evidence that we live in a heliocentric solar system. Well, I gave my students the assignment to give examples of 3 different types of paradigm shifts: a personal one, a social/cultural one, and a scientific one. Here is the best answer I got because it made me laugh out loud when I was grading them:

A social/cultural one: “The thought that women were only good for cooking and making babies. We now know that this is not true.”

So glad that this kid (I say "kid" because I feel old now in the classroom...these kids have no recollection of the 80's. And their recollection of the 90's is sketchy at best. Sigh.) now knows the truth.

So women, listen up: we've come a long way - we can do more than just cook and make babies!

Great Past Picture

From a little over a year ago...Heidi and Case sure have grown up! This is the first time they met. I think the Everharts had just arrived back to the States the day before.

Elgin Fun

We got to get together in Elgin last weekend. It was great to see all the kids play together. The older girls are getting so big and grown-up. I had fun talking with them and listening to music together. Case and Jaci played of course together. Graeson ran around while Liam crawled around.

PawPaw's Tire Shop

Almost every day when Case plays with his cars, he says that PawPaw can fix the tires on his racecar so he needs to go there. Case was in heaven when we actually got to go to the Tire Shop. Case got to ride the forklift with PawPaw, and he saw a semi truck get its tire changed! What a day!

Party: Casen's Style

One day I went into Casen's room to find his Yellow Friend, Cow, and Tiger having a "party." Except poor Bambi wasn't with them. I told Case that Bambi had been left out and wanted to go to the party. Casen replied, "No...Bambi is scared of the party. He's going to stay here."

Then Casen said that we were cold so we had to cover our heads with his red pillowcase and Cubs blanket. By then, Liam was wanting to join the party!

Visiting Mama's School

After our pirate morning, we went and ate lunch with some international students. Then I showed Josh my new office - its finally unpacked and organized. I just need to get stuff hung up now. The boys looked around my office. I had to get some pictures of Liam crawling around in my office. Case first crawled in my office at school.

Pirate Adventure!

I got this idea from this great blog, and Case loved it! Liam lasted through half the treasure hunt, pretty good for a 8-month-old. Case went to the different spots on the treasure map to collect the "treasures." Each treasure was something to paste into his Pirate book (and Liam's book too). Each treasure was something related to God's word.

Gold coins for God's Word being worth more than gold.

Seeds that are God's Word and produces a crop!

Lightbulbs for God's Word being a light for our path.

Bees for God's Word being sweeter than honey.

We read this book too.

What a neat idea to teach the boys about God's Word.
