The Horse Races!

It was family day at the Horse Races so we decided to visit. We had a good time with everyone! First, we hit up the petting zoo. The kids loved the animals of course. There was a snake that the zoo keeper was holding and said that Case could touch. Case reaches out and pinches the poor little snake. I tell Case, "No, don't squeeze him, pet him - like this." Case then reaches out again and gives the snake a good pinch then. Uh, apparently, Case can't pet snakes for awhile.

So I have two great sis-in-laws. Jessi came up a couple of weekends ago and picked up my livingroom, Casen's room, and organized my pantry (it was out of control!!! - case in point: she found 3 bags of open brown sugar!). It was so nice to have her and Sheri's help that weekend since I wasn't feeling great.

Busy Bees

Over Memorial Weekend, Jessi, Jaci, and Sheri came up to visit. Casen and Jacilayne are so much fun to watch together. They are either playing like best buds with each other or fighting like a cat and dog. Either way it's pretty funny. They sorted through the kitchen and pantry items together (while Jessi rearranged my pantry). They also played a game where Jaci tried to cover Case up with the bed covers. They thought it was hilarious!

Time With Dad

Case loves to work outside with his Daddy. He helps him put the grass in the bag. He picks sticks up (and usually loses them to Newman). Sometimes he even convinces his Daddy to carry him while he mows the lawn. After a long day of working in the yard, nothing is better than playing with the water hose!

Edmond Grandparents

Casen has some grandparents in Edmond that are crazy about him! Rich and Linda were Josh's adoptive parents in college (and then became mine consequently. Casen went and stayed the night with them last weekend and had a blast! I'm not sure who had more fun though - them or Case!

When Case got home, he was so sweet. He talked real sweet to me. Talking sweet to me means instead of his loud, yell-like talking, he talks soft and quiet with a sweet look. Then he got up by me on the couch and took my hand. He sang some sort of song and then grabs my fingers one by one. He did that over and over for a bit. I think he might have learned a new song at his grandparents' house. What a sweetie!

The Weekend We Found Out

I had been hot for a few days. Josh told me the last time I felt that hot was when I was pregnant with Case. So I took the test, and we had some good news. Sunday we ran in the Oklahoma City marathon relay. We both ran a 5K leg. It was a lot of fun - we definitely want to run in another race again!

Case on the Farm

MeMaw always takes Case to see the animals at the farm now when we visit. Case loves it! The cats are interesting since we don't have one. The chickens are great - but not those roosters! On Easter, during the egg hunt, one of the roosters got him. He didn't break the skin, and Case was tough, but I'm glad I wasn't there - I would've freaked! This last time we visited, Josh told me to make sure Case stayed away from the rooster. So I'm watching and making sure. All of a sudden Josh comes flying out of the house yelling, "I told you to keep him away from the rooster!" Apparently, I'm a city girl. I thought you only could have one rooster. And I was keeping an eye on that rooster. Case got near ANOTHER rooster - which I thought was just a big chicken. Case was fine, and Josh was too after I explained my city-ideas. Now I know that you CAN have two roosters!
Case loves feeding the horse. He thinks its funny when the horse's mouth tickles his palm.
So glad he has a farm to have fun on!

Email to the Professor...Real or Fake? Part III

I have a D in your class, and I worked my butt off to get a C in there. Having medical reasons made me really behind because I had to miss class so much. Is there anything I can do to still get a C?

My Response:
Hello,
All the work you missed due to medical reasons were dropped and not counted against you (I dropped the lowest labs and quizzes for every student). If you look at your grades, you failed two exams and got D's on the other two. That is why you have a D in the class. I do not offer any more extra credit work at the end of the semester - it isn't fair to everyone else in class.

What I Wanted to Respond With:
Hey yourself.
Telling me you "worked your butt off" doesn't help your case when I see that you never got a C or higher on an exam.
